I finally decided to insulate my crawlspace under the sunroom. This is something I've been putting off for a long time, but the 20 degree temperatures lately are forcing me to do the job. I've taken the temperature of the floor before adding insulation- the ambient temp of the house was 63, and outside temp was 31. This left my floor at around 51-52 degrees. After cmopleting the job, Ive found the floor to be around 59- a 7-8 degree difference!! Enjoy the Pics!
The crawlspace before- there was very little insulation. most of it had fallen down.
This is with the new insulation- R30!

Anatomy of a tray ceiling...
I haven't got any new projects running yet, so I thought I would update the blog with some previous projects. This is the breakdown of the tray ceiling I added to the sunroom. I wanted to give the room a higher ceiling, and this seemed like the best way to do it. The original ceiling was knotty pine paneling, which was dark and out-dated. Enjoy!
This is the initial framing of the tray. it took about two hours of labor.
Once the framing was done it was time to add insulation, lighting and drywall.
Halfway throught the drywall finishing...

Well, I've decided to start another blog, as I will once again begin work on the Duston Place house. The old blog was deleted for reasons unknown... so to bring you up to speed, I've posted some before and after pictures of my previous projects: kitchen, sunroom and living room. Enjoy!
